The security situation in Turkey has been assessed to be stable after the weekend’s attempted coup. All airports are open, and several travel agencies and airline carriers are yet again offering travels to Turkish destinations. The situation is reported to be normal and calm in tourist areas.
Around 23.30 local time military personnel blocked the Bosphorus bridges and sieged strategic points in Ankara including the Turkish national TV NTV. At current time, the coup is primarily limited to Ankara and Istanbul, where explosions have occurred.
Since the terror attack in Nice, Falck has followed the situation in France closely and we continue to evaluate the situation. The need for assistance and emergency counselling is now decreasing.
Since the bomb attacks on Tuesday, Falck has followed the situation in Brussels closely. We have continuously evaluated the situation, and now after two days, we see a declining the need for Falck’s presence in the Belgium capital. Therefore, the crisis team will leave the city this evening.
Late Tuesday evening, a crisis team from Falck Global Assistance arrived in Brussels to provide information and support to Nordic travellers and expatriates who are in the city.
After the bomb attacks in Brussels Tuesday morning, Falck deploys a crisis team to the city at 17:00 to provide support and advice to Nordic travellers who are now in the city.
During the last days, Falck has followed the situation in Paris closely. We have continuous-ly evaluated the situation, and the need for Falck’s presence in Paris is declining. There-fore, the crisis team Falck sent to Paris on Saturday has now has left the French capital.
When people experience a dramatic incident like the terror attacks in Paris on Friday, most of us subsequently will experience more or less strong reactions. The person will enter a kind of state of emergency and experience a feeling of being unfamiliar with his/her own body. This perfectly normal symptom shows that the process of understanding what happened has begun.
