Falck awarded first contract in tender for ambulance services in Region Zealand

Falck has been awarded the contract for ambulance services in what used to be Roskilde County, having submitted the best bid in terms of quality, supply security and price.

The executive committee for Region Zealand has awarded Falck the contract for ambulance services in the area designated "Area 1" in its request for proposals. The area corresponds to the former County of Roskilde, i.e. the municipalities of Roskilde, Lejre, Greve, Køge and Solrød.

Falck submitted the best bid for Area 1 in terms of quality, supply security and price. On a scale from one to ten, with ten as the highest score, Falck scored 9, 9 and 10 respectively in the three criteria.

In the award decision, Region Zealand wrote that Falck had "provided a description of a highly satisfactory fulfilment of the quality sub-criterion", and that, with respect to supply security, Falck had provided "full, precise and convincing descriptions of the services tendered".

The bids for the other three areas specified in Region Zealand's request for proposals for ambulance services are still in process, and the region has informed Falck that the executive committee expects to consider these at a meeting in January.

"I am very satisfied that Region Zealand rated our bid so high in terms of quality, supply security and price, and we look forward to continuing our excellent collaboration with the regional authorities," said Falck Regional Director Sean Erik Bisgaard.

The contract for Area 1 can be signed after the expiry of the ten-day complaint period. The contract will run for a term of eight years from February 2016 with an option for the region to terminate the contract after four years.
